Top Ten New Series Daisy Wants To Start

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

OMG, where to start with this topic?? I actually have a whole shelve on Goodreads dedicated to all the new series that I want to start and it has WAY more than 10 series on it...

1. The Winner's Curse (Winner's Trilogy) by Marie Rutkoski: I've heard REALLY great things about this book and should definitely get started on the first book soon!

2. Also Known As (Also Known As) by Robin Benway: This just sounds like a super fun series and I need a little light reading every now and then.

3. Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms) by Morgan Rhodes: treacherous betrayals and secret alliances sound like my kind of thing always. Also: the cover is so pretty!

4. Venom (Secrets of the Eternal Rose) by Fiona Paul: it's about Renaissance Venice!! Also, Fiona Paul is awesome, I loved The Art of Lainey she wrote under the penname Paula Stokes.

5. Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin) by Robin LaFevers: ASSASSIN NUNS!!! Also, my friend Mel raves about this series, soooo....

6. The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus) by Rick Riordan: I still can't believe I haven't started this series yet. The only good thing about it is that by the time this TTT goes live, the last book will be released and I can just BINGE my way through it. Hopefully.

7. The Warrior Heir (Heir Chronicles) by Cinda Williams Chima: I LOVED her Seven Realms series and I need more of Cinda Williams Chima's writing in my life.

8. The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard) by Scott Lynch: I love a good fantasy and I've heard AMAZING things about this series, so I need in on the action.

9. Outlander (Outlander) by Diana Gabaldon: I love historical fiction and this sounds SO good! And also, I want to read the book before I can watch the TV series and I keep hearing all these things about Jamie being total eyecandy, so I need to read this obviously so I can go on to ogle him.

10. Sabriel (Abhorsen) by Garth Nix: I really want to expand my knowledge of fantasy novels beyond what has been released over the last 5 years, and I've heard this series is basically a must read.

  1. Outlander made my list too! People seem to either love or hate the books, so I'm interested to see how I like them.

  2. There are so many books on here that I should have put on my list! Grave Mercy made mine this week, but I totally should have added The Warrior Heir and The Winner's Curse. And I can not tell you how extremely lots I think Lies of Locke Lamora and Sabriel are. Like really. For real. A LOT.

  3. Ooooooo great list! There are quite a few things I want to pick up here, such as Falling Kingdoms, Grave Mercy, The Lost Hero, and The Warrior Heir.

  4. Ooh yes I want to read The Winner's Curse too. I'm a bit scared of The Lies of Locke Lamora but I've heard great things so I might try it. I find fantasy a bit hit and miss sometimes. I do also want to read Outlander but it's so long and I don't do well with historical fiction a lot of the time so I'm hoping it's more along the lines of Game of Thrones really.

  5. I wanted to start Grave Mercy, too!

I started Outlander a few months ago bt I wasn't able to get into the story so it was a DNF for me..

  6. I also really want to read Locke Lamora and the rest of the series - I didn't add it to my series because I had to cut mine down and I only added completed series. But YES to that one!

  7. you NEED to read Grave Mercy - one of my top 5 series in the last few years

re: Outlander - I'm a huge fan, but also acknowledge it takes a while to get going because it is so detailed - if you can make it about 1/2 way through, it picks up in pace

  8. The "Heroes of Olympus" series is fantastic (well, the books I've read in it so far have been fantastic!) :D

  9. His Fair Assassin and The Old Kingdom are both brilliant series! :) I'd love to read Falling Kingdoms and The Winner's Curse, too.

  12. Great List!! The Winner's Curse made my list as well. I'm reading the second book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series with my son now. Once we finish this series we plan on reading The Heroes of Olympus.

    Here is my TTT: http://www.jacquesbooknook.blogspot.com/2014/10/top-ten-tuesday-new-series-i-want-to.html

  13. Ah you have to get started on The heroes of Olympus! It's multiple pov and Riordan did a stellar job representing a diverse cast of characters! I've read Grave Mercy and it's a good read too.

  14. So many good series to read, I could read nothing but. Nice list this week. Have a good day! kelley—the road goes ever ever on

  15. I included The Winners Trilogy, His Fair Assassin, and Gentleman Bastards but this list is full of other series I want to start including The Heroes of Olympus, Outlander, and Abhorsen! Great list!

  16. The Heroes of Olympus, DO IT! it's fantastic!! ;D

  17. That is a good list! I forgot about Heroes of Olypus, Gentleman Bastards, and the Heir Chronicles- all series I need to start!

    ReplyDelete
  18. The Winner's Curse and Also Known As are both very awesome (in very different ways!)

    ReplyDelete
  19. The Winner's Curse is one I should have put on my list! Like you I hear great things and need to read it soon!

    ReplyDelete
  20. The Heroes of Olympus series is one of my all time favourite book series, you'll love it!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have The Winner's Curse on my list today too. :)

  22. My husband, who is so not a reader, absolutely loves The Lies of Locke Lamora. He thinks everyone must read it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The Outlander series is awesome but each book is about 2000+ pages and there are 9 of them so after the first book go ahead and watch the tv series which is also awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Heroes of Olympus - YES! I just finished book #4 and bought the final book. I haven't yet decided if I want to go ahead and read it or try and put off finishing such a great series LOL

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes! Please read The Winner's Curse ASAP. It's amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh, Outlander! Good one -- I totally should have added that to my list!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm so glad I'm not the only YA fan who hasn't read the Sabriel/Abhorsen series! I have the first three books, so there's no excuse for me.
I've read and reread Outlander so many times that I practically know it by heart, but I've still never made it through the second book, Dragonfly in Amber. It's just not that high a priority on my list, especially since the books in that series are so huge. I always feel like I could read DiA, or I could read an entire trilogy by another author. Decisions, decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm glad to see that Daisy didn't stick with the "New..let's say within the last year or two" part of the prompt either. While there are any number of new series being written, I find that there are *SO MANY* older series that I've never read. For example, even though I'm a big fan of fantasy, I've never read Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, or Game of Thrones. And I didn't even include *those* in my own Top Ten list this week. Please visit my blog to see the Top Ten Series that Elsi wants to read.

  29. I read The Winner's Curse recently and it was really amazing! I was afraid of the hype but so glad I read it. And I looove Outlander! Read all 7 books in a 6 month span haha. If you love historical fiction I think you'll love it.

I bought Also Known As recently at a book signing! It sounded cute! And personally I really didn't like Falling Kingdoms but a lot of people have. I just felt like I had read better fantasy trilogies.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Outlander! SOOO good! And Grave Mercy! You muuuuust read that one! It just gets better and better!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awesome list! I haven't read any of these and I really need to! I loved the Percy Jackson series so much, and I can't see why I have delayed starting the Hero's of Olympus series. I think it might be because I am afraid it won't be as fabulous as the others. And I really want to started The Winner's Curse as well!
