The Question - What type of music do you listen to the most? What was the last concert you went to?
As for as music I listen to... there's so much different stuff, but I guess most of it can be categorized into 80s pop/metal (think Def Leppard, Styx, OMD), 90s pop/alt rock (Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, etc), and some classic rock. Also, occasionally some current pop music, but I don't listen to the radio all that much, so I usually rely on Andrew to let me know when something good comes out.
The last concert I went to was of Ewer and the Two Dragons, fairly unknown I think. I mostly listen to a mix of pop and rock, I LOVE singers like Jonathan Jeremiah and Sarah Bareilles, who are both awesome live!
The last concert I went to was Garth Brooks back in January. I'm glad I went because otherwise, the last concert I went to was in high school. I just don't go to that many! Garth Brooks was pretty awesome. I love that he primarily played his old hits. Our group was on the jumbotron during "Friends in Low Places," which was really cool.
Julia says...The music I listen to most is actually pop music (according to Spotify). I would classify it more as an Indy eclectic with a heavy lean toward 90s pop/alternative. I enjoy singing so that is probably why I like pop. I really have a wide range though. The only thing I would say you wouldn't find on my Spotify is hardcore heavy metal, straight rap, and pop country. I have some classic country though, like John Denver. I have a playlist for the songs I sing in Church so I can practice them as well as one for ALL THE KARAOKE ever. As for concerts, I have been to lots of musicals, lots of classical concerts, but only one official concert and that was The Fray in 2007... only because Mae opened. :)
I pretty much just listen to rock music and most of it's sub-genres. I can't listen to the new stuff of the radio without wondering how in the hell our next generation of children are going to make it. The last concert I went to was the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, KY. There were THOUSANDS of people there for a two day event. There was Judas Priest, Korn, Stone Temple Pilots, Mastodon, Pop Evil, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Buckcherry... the list goes on. It was amazing. Here's a picture just to show you how many people were there. I can't wait to go again this year!
I've never gone to a concert, believe it or not. I guess it must be a gratifying experience. As for the music I listen to... I like pop and rock (but not of the heavy kind), though I mostly listen to movie soundtracks. I'm currently in love with Whiplash.ReplyDelete

I mostly listen to soundtracks or, if I've discovered an artist, because one of his songs was used in a TV show I really liked. I associate the song with the plot, so I sometimes get very attached to it. That's also the reason, why I have a bit of an obsession with songs from musicals or musical movies. <3 Other than that my music choices heavily rely on my sister's tastes, who's really into classic rock.ReplyDelete
I'm a day late to this discussion, but I just had to comment - music is such a big part of my life, I could talk about it for hours! I listen to pretty much every genre in some capacity - rock, indie, alternative, metal, - plus classic rock (that I grew up on), but I tend to say I'm a pop-punk/pop-rock fan.ReplyDelete
Going to concerts is my favourite thing to do (apart from reading, of course!) - the excitement leading up it, the adrenaline rush you get when the lights dim and the band comes out, the way the bass rattles through your chest, that heart-stopping moment when your favourite singer is singing your favourite lyrics on a stage five feet away from you - it's a glorious feeling. The last concert I went to was Gerard Way's solo show in May, and next week I'm going to two: Fall Out Boy and Nate Ruess (lead singer of fun.).
My last concert....man. High School. Linkin Park's Project Revolution Tour. Still love the band, especially their older songs, but now I love me some Adele. I like easy listening. And have spent the past two days binging on one song I think is French pop.ReplyDelete
I listen to pop/rock the most, but also like classic rock, metal, folks, and lots of random stuff. The last concert I went to was David Duchovny :) Did you even know that he's a musician now? So that was kind of random. But before that was Hozier with George Ezra, and they were both really fantastic!ReplyDelete
Tina Turner. I am one of her biggest fans. She is 10 years older than me therefore a role model. I have seen her twice. This was in Australia and I had to fly to another state to see her. Anyone who can dance on stage at age 60 plus in stilettos then sing her final song upside down from a cherry picker raised over the audience has me hooked.ReplyDelete
