I have an amaaaazing YA book club made up of adult ladies (you can read my books I want to read with them) but sometimes I ponder what books I'd like to read/would pick if I had a book club that read adult fiction/non-fiction. I already did a post like this before on my own blog so this is basically part 2 of books I want to read with a book club!
I've just heard amazing things about this one and it looks like it would have a lot to talk about.
Forever, Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid (just snatched this up for $1.99 on kindle)
I read her book After I Do (which would be an AMAZING book club pick) so I'd want to read this one with others!
I read Matthew Quick's Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock and it was super thought provoking so I'd be hoping this one would be as well!
This has come HIGHLY recommended by some many people and it has won awards!
A lot of people I trust love this one and it just looks like a good book club book that I've been wanting to read for a while!
This premise just sounds AWESOME.
Again, just seems like a good book club pick!
The Pearl That Broke Its Shell by Nadia Hashimi
The Pearl That Broke Its Shell by Nadia Hashimi
This one soared on to my radar after the Goodreads awards and it looks fantastic!
I read her book, Arranged, and thought it was fun and this one looks like it could be fun but also thought-provoking!
I haven't read any of these, but they all look good :] good list!ReplyDelete
I haven't read any of those, but maybe I should. A lot of them look interesting :)ReplyDelete
I haven't read any of these books, but some of them look really good.ReplyDelete
Wild was the first book my book club read together. It definitely generated a lot of discussion.ReplyDelete
I have so many of these on my TBR list and haven't had a chance to get to them, yet. I think these are great book club picks.ReplyDelete
LOVED Nowhere But Home... that would definitely be a great book club pick!! I spent a lot of time reflecting on my own life after reading it and it has stuck with me!ReplyDelete
The Pearl That Broke Its Shell is my favorite book of 2014 and one I want to read with my book group. It would be excellent for discussion.ReplyDelete
I'd love to be part of a YA book club. My evening book group reads both fiction for adults and teens. One of our members teaches 7th grade English and we always have interesting discussions about books for teens and trying to get teens in her class to read more or read for fun.
I have Life After Life sitting on my shelf just waiting to be read. It looks so good! Great list :)ReplyDelete
Check out my TTT!
Katrina @ Chased By My Imagination
The Good Luck of Right Now has been on my kindle unread for far too long. Must read that soon!ReplyDelete
The only one I've read is Wild and I looooved it. Cheryl Strayed is a talented writer, smart advice-giver and all-around amazing person. Btw, I also have a book group of adults in which we read YA books. It's great fun! (And part of my job so I also get paid for it, which is kind of crazy and amazing.)ReplyDelete
Life After Life was a great book club book!ReplyDelete
I loved Life After Life. <3ReplyDelete
My book club just read Wild! She's not the most likeable character, but it was still very compelling!ReplyDelete
I really enjoyed A Tale For the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki. My MIL actually read it at her book club then passed it on to me, so I'd say it's a perfect pick! xReplyDelete
I am currently reading After I Do and wish I was reading it as part of a book club because there's so much to discuss! I'm asking myself so many questions. Most of your other choices are on my TBR list. I particularly want to read the Liza Palmer book.ReplyDelete
Nowhere but Home looks good, awesome picks!ReplyDelete
Too funny, we are actually reading Wild right now. Well...I'm supposed to be. I haven't started it yet, but since we meet soon I better get started!!! O_O LOL! Great list! p.s. I want a Book Club that reads YA Lit!!! Half the time I refuse to read the books they pick and just show up and drink! LOL! I'm a terrible librarian! Oh well.ReplyDelete
I don't know any of these, except that I've heard of Life After Life. People keep telling me it's good, but I haven't got round to it so far. Nice list!ReplyDelete
I've been wanting to read Nowhere but Home. I think I actually have it on my nook. I'll definitely have to check it out! :)ReplyDelete
A TALE FOR THE TIME BEING is a fabulous book club selection but be prepared, everyone won't like it.ReplyDelete
Forever Interrupted and All The Light We Cannot See also made my list. :) As did another book by Matthew Quick (Silver Linings Playbook). I would love to read After I Do and Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock though.ReplyDelete
Funeral Dress sounds intriguing as I'm all about Female Power... I'll have to add it to my reading wishlist!!!ReplyDelete
Life After Life is a great book...just don't try and "read" it via audio book. I made that mistake. It's jumps in time gets confusing when listening as opposed to reading.ReplyDelete
Wild is a really good one!ReplyDelete
I've read Wild and it's a great book club book.ReplyDelete
I've been trying to pick up more adult fiction, so I'm adding Nowhere but Home to my Goodreads' "to read" list! I have A Tale for the Time Being, I hope it's as good as I've heard!ReplyDelete
I did books for the same sort of book club - adult fiction! Great list, some lovely suggestions (:ReplyDelete
