Top Ten 2014 Releases Daisy Meant To Read But Didn't Get To

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

I'm basically notoriously bad at actually reading the new releases that I'm excited about and pre-ordered, so this list is way easy to make. And because I had all these extra books, I have another Top Ten Tuesday on my personal blog!

The Books in Series I've Started Before

This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner: I LOVED These Broken Stars and I actually own this pretty, so it should be read soon!

Never Judge a Lady by her Cover by Sarah MacLean: I adore Sarah MacLean's writing, but for some reason, I've yet to read this one and the book before it, but I SO want to read Chase's story!

The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss: I own this. Signed. There is no excuse, cause I just need more from this author and I'll take whatever I can while waiting for the next installment in the Kingkiller Chronicles...

Maid of Deception by Jennifer McGowan: Maid of Honor was so, SO good and just my kind of book and for some reason I haven't gotten my hand on a copy of Maid of Deception yet... This should be remedied soon.

Brazen by Katherine Longshore: I love Katherine Longshore's take on the Tudors and I just really don't know why I haven't read Brazen yet. It's staring at me accusingly from my shelf with its gorgeous cover...

Split Second by Kasie West: KASIE WEST IS AWESOME! And Pivot Point was just amazing and swoonworthy and just plain fantastic writing. AND THAT ENDING! Just no words. So obviously I failed to read this, even though I own it...

My Fantasy Fix

Dreamer's Pool by Juliet Marillier: the start of her new series and I am EXCITED! I got this from Mel for our book club's Secret Santa, so I hope I'll be reading it soon :)

Pennyroyal Academy by M.A. Larson: it has a magical school in it. I cannot for the life of me imagine why this hasn't been read yet.

Traitor's Blade by Sebastien de Castell: this sounds AMAZING, it hasn't gotten a lot of buzz, but I think I'll love it.

Moth and Spark by Anne Leonard: DRAGONS! This needed reading YESTERDAY.

So tell if there are books on the list that you've also failed to read! Or other releases that should have been on the list, I'm always happy with book recs!

  2. I haven't read any of these, but Pennyroyal Academy just got added to my wish list. Here's hoping we both get to read our older titles soon.

  6. I'm the same. I talk A LOT about the book before it's published, feature it on a lot of ttt lists, pre-order it and then forget to read it. Especially sequels to the series. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. :)
Traitor's Blade was my favorite book in 2015. Snark and humor from best uf novels in fantasy book. Epic! You must read it soon!

  7. Never Judge a Lady was so good....I loved Chase's story!! Though Cross and Pippa are may favorite couple of that series. I also really enjoyed Split Second so definitely move that up. A good ending to the series.

  8. I actually found that most of the 2014 releases I planned to read but didn't are ones I already own. Having them in my possession (as opposed to on-loan from the library) takes away the pressure, I guess, so I forget about them ...

  11. Great list! Maid of Deception and This Shattered World are high on my tbr list for this year. I have Traitor's Blade too, and I don't think I've read a single review or seen anyone reading it. We should read it and get some more buzz going! ;-)

  16. The Slow Regard of Silent Things and Dreamer's Pool both made my list. Lucky me - I own them both! (But not signed. I am envious.) Moth and Spark just missed inclusion. And I really want to read some more Sarah MacLean; I've only read one so far. I hope you get to all these this year!

  20. I need to read This Shattered World! Though in a way I want to wait for the sequels to be done, so I can devour them all in one sitting.

  21. I want to read Dreamer's Pool too! And catch up with the Sarah MacLean series - I only read the first one. And This Shattered World and Maid of Deception, though I haven't read the first in those series yet, either... sigh...
