Top Ten Series I've Been Meaning To Start But Haven't

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

Lori's Pick

1. His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman:  This kind of book normally isn't my thing, but I've heard such wonderful things about the third book! I feel weird just reading the last book of the series, so I'll have to push through the first two. Haha.

Jana's Picks

2. The Fire and Thorns Trilogy by Rae Carson
3. Lucky Harbor Series by Jill Shalvis

I don't really have anything to say about them except that people love them and I think they sound awesome!

Kimberly's Picks

4. The Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella: I've heard so many good things, and I love Sophie Kinsella. I think I even own the first book. I just haven't started it yet.

5. Anything Terry Pratchett: I feel terrible that I haven't read any of his stuff! My husband isn't the bookworm that I am, and even he has read Pratchett!!

6. The Program by Suzanne Young: I've actually read the first book, but haven't continued on to the rest. I liked it! I just haven't picked up the others yet.

Jamie's Picks

7. The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater: Every since I started blogging in 2010 I have meant to read this series (I even own them) but still have not even read the first book! OOPS.

8. Shades of Magic series by Victoria Schwab: I hear amaaaazing things about this series and own the first two books but haven't gotten to them yet. STORY OF MY LIFE.

9. Heir Chronicles AND Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima: A friend gave me the whole Heir Chronicles series and I keep meaning to reading but ALSO everyone who is a fan of this author says the Seven Realms series is their FAVE so I keep meaning to grab that from the library.

10. The Selection series by Kiera Cass: Everyone I know talks about how this series is the ultimate book crack that you can just binge right through. I think I'm defintitely going to binge this while I'm out on maternity leave.

What series have you been meaning to start? Have you read any of the ones we haven't started?

Top Ten Characters We Wish We Could Check In With

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

Daisy's Picks

Han and Raisa from Cinda Williams Chima's Seven Realms Series: I LOVE this series, it's So amazing! And I'd love to know what's going on with Han and Raisa.

EVERYONE from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series: obviously this series is one of my favourites of all time and though we got an epilogue, I would still love to learn a little more about what everyone is up to.

Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice: so much love for these two! This is also the reason why I will forever add all the novels dealing with what happens after Pride and Prejudice to my TBR list.

Sturmhond from Leigh Bardugo's Grisha trilogy: I LOVE Sturmhond and felt there was obviously not enough of him in Ruin and Rising and I just need MORE, ok?

Elisa and HECTOR and everyone from Rae Carson's Fire and Thorns series: so, you know, I kinda pretty much adore this series with all my heart and would love to know what's going on in Elisa's kingdom and what's happening with the other queens and with HECTOR and just. Can we have another series with them please?

Bridget's Picks

Tommy and Del from Tick Tock. An uptight-but-trying-not-to-be Vietnamese novelist meets and falls for the ultimate Manic Pixie Dream Girl while a devil-doll-turned-terrifying-ghoulish-assassin chases him. After all the excitement of the beginning of their relationship, I’d love to see how they settle into being in, you know, a regular relationship with more mundane problems.

Richard Mayhew from Neverwhere. Richard’s decision at the end of Neverwhere is a rather interesting one and I’m curious to know how it’s working out for him. I personally think he might have made a mistake, but there’s no way to know.

Tahleen's Picks

6442769

Q and the gang from Paper Towns. Topical? Sure. But I love these guys, and have ever since I read Green's novel 5 years ago. They are probably one or two years out of college at this point, and I'd love to know if they are working or (in Margo's case) traveling the world.

15795357

Eleanor and Park from Eleanor & Park. Right now they probably have enough of a story between the two of them for three more books at least. I'd love a condensed version, at least.

Emma and Galen from Anna Banks' The Syrena Legacy trilogy. The final book left things pretty good for our two main characters here, but I'm sure the politics between humans, Syrena, and the half-human/half-Syrena of the world are not completely settled. I'd like to know how things are going among the realms.

Tell us which characters YOU would like to check in with!!

Top Ten Books Daisy Added To Her TBR List Recently

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

This week's topic is about books we've added to our to-be-read list lately! I (Jamie) love sharing what I've recently added to my book/Netflix/music queue on my own blog monthly-ish so I thought it would be fun to peek at what everyone has added to their TBR's lately!

So take it away, Daisy!

1. The Providence of Fire by Brian Staveley: I LOVED The Emperor's Blades, it was on my TTT of Best Books of 2014, and somehow I missed the release of this one. But luckily, the Goodreads community is awesome and someone alerted me to it, so now it's on the TBR!

2. Blood Song by Anthony Ryan: I came across the sequel while looking for what to buy next and this cover and the summary seemed SO familiar, but I cannot for the life of me remember where I've seen it before, but it's on the TBR now (and also on its way here). Yay for fantasy goodness!

3. Kamikazo Kaito Jeanne vol 1 by Arina Tanemura: so I totally listened in on all your manga recs to Jana, because I've been meaning to expand my reading experience and added this to the TBR and it's also on its way here as we speak :)

4. Death Note vol 1 by Tsugumi Ohba: same goes for this one, I'm really excited!

5. Simon vs. the Home Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli: people are raving about this book and somehow I missed all the excitement before last week, so it's added to the TBR and pre-ordered!

6. Flunked by Jen Calonita: the first book in the Fairy Tale Reform School series, does that not sound awesome?? I need this book in my life.

7. Undeniable by Liz Bankes: I'm all for holiday love stories, especially when they feature British boys.

8. The Shadow Behind the Stars by Rebecca Hahn: about the youngest of the three Fates. Count me in!

9. Dumplin' by Julie Murphy: this has the potential to totally win my heart and an attitude of "the ultimate bikini body? Put a bikini on your body." sounds like a winner to me!

10. A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston: this sounds like a retelling of 1001 Nights/Arabian Nights, and also, it sounds awesome!

So, tell me what you've added to your TBR recently!

Top Ten Tuesday -- Books On Our Spring TBR List!

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

Daisy's Picks

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: I know so many people have already read this, but I'm not one of them and I cannot wait for my copy to get here to so I can meet all of these characters that everyone keeps raving about!

The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West: Give me a fake relationship any day and I'll be a happy reader. Especially if it's written by Kasie West, cause she's awesome.

The Novice by Taran Matharu: this sounds like the start of an epic fantasy series and OMG that cover is just GORGEOUS!

The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen: I need this in my life after loving The Queen of the Tearling last year!

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir: it's a Rome-like world combined with fantasy goodness, OF COURSE I'M IN!

Tahleen's Picks

The Shadow Cabinet by Maureen Johnson: I've been waiting for this one to come out since I read the last book in the series, The Madness Underneath. I was super disappointed in the ending of that one, but I was told by a very reliable source that this one was better. Here's hoping!

Jackaby by William Ritter: I started this one a couple of months ago and enjoyed it, but things happened and I put it down for a bit. Then I saw it was going to be a Forever Young Adult book club pick in a few months, so I figured I'd wait to read it until then. It's sort of like Sherlock Holmes, but with paranormal stuff, a female Watson, and in late 19th-century America.

Jana's Picks

The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski: I LOVED The Winner's Curse, and can't wait for the next one! I've had it for ages, I've just been so busy with school. Next week is Spring Break for me, and I plan to enjoy it!

The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson: Pretty much ditto to my reasoning above. The Kiss of Deception is one of my favorite books ever, and I'm planning to read this one as soon as I'm done with my current read!

The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows: I've been hearing that this book might ruin me, but I love Jodi so much that I don't even care!

Top Ten Things Daisy Likes/Dislikes When It Comes To Romances In Books

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

I LOVE romance in books, I love shipping the ship and swooning and crying at all kinds of trouble. So these are my likes and dislikes about romances in books:

Dislikes

1. Instalove: Seriously, can this please die? I mean, everybody knows this one, two people look at each other and BOOM love enters and nothing else matters but that guy/girl. Yeah right. Obviously I believe in insta-lust, but let's not make that prettier than it is ok? There is such a thing as instant attraction, but you don't love someone when you first meet them, there has to be some kind of relationship building going on.

2. The stalkerish-type of love: You all know I'm talking about the creepy 'I'm ALWAYS watching you' type of relationship (*cough* Twilight *cough*). It's weird. It's creepy and it's not romantic.

3. The helpless heroine who needs constant saving: Because I mean, really? I am perfectly capable of tying my own shoelaces and doing LOTS of other things on my own. I don't fall down a well every other minute and I expect my heroines to have the same sense and not have all the too-stupid-to-live moments just so we can see the hero flex his muscles a bit more.

4. Any kind of non-consensual intimacy: Ok, repeat with me: it's only sexy when both people want it. Please stop trying to romanticize rape, it's not ok.

5. Spinelessness: This can be either the hero or the heroine or both. I HATE when the couple just keeps taking crap from each other without speaking up and basically forgiving them ANYTHING they did wrong, even if it's something really bad or just plain annoying or at least has me going WTF? This also counts if one part of the couple is just agreeing with the other over EVERYTHING. Please just have an opinion about something.

Likes

1. The funny mixed in with the romance: I love when an author can bring the funny along with the romance, both Tessa Dare and Julia Quinn are masters at this and have scenes in their books that are laugh out loud funny for me, which put the couple in awkward situations and they bond over this. I love this.

2. People with history getting together: I love it when it's two people who have known each other for a long time, cause they have a solid and believable basis for their lovestory: the brother's best friend, the boy/girl next door, the best friend turned love interest. Those kind of story arcs work for me usually.

3. The hate-to-love relationship: LOVE THIS! There are all these sparks and BANTER and then BOOM they kiss and it's magical and electric and just I LOVE THIS OK?

4. Pirates: pirates go well with everything, including romance. Also, this goes really well with another thing I like: girls dressing as guys as a disguise. I especially like this when the pirate starts questioning himself cause he's developing feelings for a 'boy'.

5. The slow burn romance: I just love a good slow burn romance filled with all these small moments and glances and then the tension just builds and builds until you want to smash the two characters together and yell at them to JUST KISS ALREADY!! OMG, I love it when this happens cause then I'm SO rooting for the couple and it's so satisfying when they finally get together.

So tell me, what you do like/dislike seeing in your books when it comes to romance?

Top Ten 2014 Releases Daisy Meant To Read But Didn't Get To

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

I'm basically notoriously bad at actually reading the new releases that I'm excited about and pre-ordered, so this list is way easy to make. And because I had all these extra books, I have another Top Ten Tuesday on my personal blog!

The Books in Series I've Started Before

This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner: I LOVED These Broken Stars and I actually own this pretty, so it should be read soon!

Never Judge a Lady by her Cover by Sarah MacLean: I adore Sarah MacLean's writing, but for some reason, I've yet to read this one and the book before it, but I SO want to read Chase's story!

The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss: I own this. Signed. There is no excuse, cause I just need more from this author and I'll take whatever I can while waiting for the next installment in the Kingkiller Chronicles...

Maid of Deception by Jennifer McGowan: Maid of Honor was so, SO good and just my kind of book and for some reason I haven't gotten my hand on a copy of Maid of Deception yet... This should be remedied soon.

Brazen by Katherine Longshore: I love Katherine Longshore's take on the Tudors and I just really don't know why I haven't read Brazen yet. It's staring at me accusingly from my shelf with its gorgeous cover...

Split Second by Kasie West: KASIE WEST IS AWESOME! And Pivot Point was just amazing and swoonworthy and just plain fantastic writing. AND THAT ENDING! Just no words. So obviously I failed to read this, even though I own it...

My Fantasy Fix

Dreamer's Pool by Juliet Marillier: the start of her new series and I am EXCITED! I got this from Mel for our book club's Secret Santa, so I hope I'll be reading it soon :)

Pennyroyal Academy by M.A. Larson: it has a magical school in it. I cannot for the life of me imagine why this hasn't been read yet.

Traitor's Blade by Sebastien de Castell: this sounds AMAZING, it hasn't gotten a lot of buzz, but I think I'll love it.

Moth and Spark by Anne Leonard: DRAGONS! This needed reading YESTERDAY.

So tell if there are books on the list that you've also failed to read! Or other releases that should have been on the list, I'm always happy with book recs!

Top Ten Books Daisy Is Looking Forward To in 2015

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

So I've been trying really hard not to add any of the books that were on my last two TTT lists, and it was REALLY difficult, but it worked and just know that I'm really excited about those as well, but to throw in some variety, here's the other books that I'm looking forward to in 2015!

1. Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira: this sounds super cute. And I'm dying to see if acting like your favourite heroine from a novel pays off in the romance department.

2. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: It's a new Leigh Bardugo series!!! EEEEE!!! I LOVED the Grisha trilogy and I will basically just devour this book when it comes out.

3. The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan: It's Rick Riordan. Writing about Norse Gods. Do I need to say more?

4. Untitled #4 by Sarah J. Maas: ok, so I cheated with this one, cause it's on the sequels list from two weeks ago, but I just wannnnttttt it SO BAD! GIVE IT TO ME NOOOWWWW!!!

5. The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin: People, you should all read Jemisin's Inheritance Trilogy. It is beyond amazing. And because of that I will always be excited about another book she has coming out.

6. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: YES SHE HAS ANOTHER BOOK COMING OUT!!! Isn't she just awesomeness personified?? So I'm not generally a fan of fae books, but Sarah has this amazing writing style that I love and I WILL READ THIS. Also, the cover is gorgeous.

7. Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge: YESSSSSS!!! I loved Cruel Beauty and I'm guessing this will be just as good!

8. The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West: Kasie West is awesome and a plotline that involves faking a relationship which progresses to a real relationship is just a whole lot of YES!

9. Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray: I read The Diviners for book club this year and it was really good! I'm really anxious to find out what happens next and also if the couple I'm shipping will end up together because the romance that was happening towards the end of the book was NOT it.

10. The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean: A new historical romance series by Sarah MacLean, HOORAYYYY!!

Top Ten Books On Daisy's Winter TBR

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

You can go with this however you like, books that you're planning on reading or like me, what's coming out that's in winter that's on your TBR. I like focusing on those shiny new releases that will be coming my way soonish :) And as I also did last week's TTT, I'm not adding the sequels that were on that list. But those are on the TBR as well, obviously.

1. The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows: I NEED THIS BOOK!!! It sounds amazing and the cover is beyond gorgeous!

2. The Storyspinner by Becky Wallace: this sounds like an epic addition to the fantasy genre and I think it'll be just my kind of book.

3. Shadow Study by Maria V. Snyder: I LOVE Maria V. Snyder's books. She never disappoints with her writing and OMG how long have we all been waiting on another story that centers around Yelena?? And Valek! And just all those wonderful characters that hold a special place in my heart.

4. Unleashed by Sophie Jordan: so much love for Sophie Jordan's writing! And I totally had feelings all over Uninvited, so GIVE IT TO ME NOW AND NOONE GETS HURT.
Thank you.

5. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab: I loved The Near Witch and am embarassed to say that I own every one of Victoria Schwab's other books, but haven't read them yet... But I really want to and A Darker Shade of Magic sounds so intriguing!

6. A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas: a Sleeping Beauty retelling!! How could I not want this?

7. Promposal by Rhonda Helms: this just sounds like a whole lot of cuteness and fun and prom is always a good thing in books!

8. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard: I love the concept of this book and I'm dying to see if it's just as good as I imagine it could be.

9. The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall: two words: secret society. I'm so in.

10. When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill: I'm expecting lots of swoons and a little lighter read that's just what I want.

Top Ten Sequels Daisy Can't Wait To Get

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

1. The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon: so this is cheating a bit since I've already read and loved it, due to Debby generously loaning me her ARC, but I can't wait to get my own finished copy! Also, you should all read it, cause it's REALLY good.

2. Untitled Throne of Glass #4 by Sarah J. Maas: I NEED THIS!!! Heir of Fire left me with ALL THE FEELS and I need MORE. The wait is KILLING ME! If you want to see me rave and go crazy fangirl over Heir of Fire, here's my review.

3. The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson: I absolutely loved The Kiss of Deception, so I need the sequel in my life to find out what happens next!

4. Half the World by Joe Abercrombie: Half a King was beyond amazing and I love Yarvi so much! He reminds me of Tyrion and that's not a comparison I make lightly. Go forth and read this.

5. The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy by Julia Quinn: so technically this might not count as a sequel, but it's the 4th instalment in the Smythe-Smith Quartet and I just love Julia Quinn's writing!

6. Emeralds & Ashes by Leila Rasheed: young adult historical fiction done absolutely right! I LOVE this series! Sad that this will be the last book...

7. Ensnared by A.G. Howard: THIS SERIES YOU GUYS!! There is no end to my love for it and the characters and MORPHEUS and just GIVE IT TO ME NOOOOOOWWWWWW!!! Also: how will I recover once this series is finished???

8. This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner: These Broken Stars tugged on all my feelings, even if I was hesitant to read it cause I'm not really all that into books set in space and weird planets and all that, but it was SO GOOD. So This Shattered World is gonna get lots of hugs when it arrives in my mailbox!

9. Doors of Stone by Patrick Rothfuss: Patrick Rothfuss is just a genius, he has a way of storytelling that is brilliant and captivating and just perfect. So please can this no doubt amazing book get released so I can love the crap out of it?

10. The Winds of Winter by George R.R. Martin: you didn't seriously think I'd leave this off the list, did you? Full disclosure: I haven't read A Dance With Dragons yet, but that's partly because I know the wait for Winds of Winter will be EXCRUCIATING. I respect brilliance takes time, but I can't help but want to series to be completed because I am so invested in all these characters!

So that's it for me, what's on your list?

Top Ten Books Daisy & Kimberly Read So Far This Year

To learn more about Top Ten Tuesday or see the list of future topics click here.

Daisy's Picks

Eon by Alison Goodman: I read this for book club and it was AMAZING! I can't believe I waited this long to read it!

Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen: why yes I love me some Robin Hood retelling and Scarlet was just a whole lot of YES!

Unhinged by A.G. Howard: I LOVE this series and cannot wait for the third book to come out because holy crap that ending was cruel.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer: so you can all told-you-so me because I was REALLY hesitant to read this but everyone and their aunt was raving about it and I gave in and it was GLORIOUS.

The Emperor's Blades by Brian Staveley: there hasn't been a lot of buzz about this one, but it is seriously awesome and if you like fantasy you should put it on your TBR list!

Kimberly's Picks

Cress by Marissa Meyer: Okay, I really liked Cinder and Scarlett. But Cinder? My absolute favorite out of the three. Cress is positively adorable. The other characters remain amazing, and I loved their interactions with each other. As each character is discovered and added to the group, the more I love the story.

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas: Loved the first book. This one was just as wonderful, maybe even better? I CANNOT wait for the next book!

New York: The Novel by Edward Rutherfurd: Now, if you've read my blog or follow me on twitter, you know how much I love New York. I'm also a total history geek. I house-sat for a relative. What was I most excited about? They have the history channel. Anyway, this book tells the story of New York, from it's earliest days of Dutch settlers, all the way up to the events of 9/11. I grew to love the families I was introduced to. I learned SO MUCH from this about the history of the city. I was googling stuff every few pages.

Rose Under Fire by Elizabeth Wein: This was a tough read, but like the first book, the writing is wonderful. Letters on a page transformed into fully realized people. The harsh landscape of their world was detailed and gritty. Their friendships were beautifully, and painfully, real. I was invested in all of them.

Maybe One Day by Melissa Kantor: Picture this. Me, 3 am, sitting my bed, book in hand, tears streaming. Okay. Maybe DON'T picture that. Ha. But this book. This was one of those that doesn't connect with everyone. No book does. But this book slammed into me. It pulled me in, broke my heart and warmed it all at once.

Tell us what books are your favorites this year!!

Top Ten Books That Will Be In Daisy's Beach Bag This Summer

To learn more about Top Ten Tuesday or see the list of future topics click here.

My vacation is in June this year and I LOVE reading on the beach, so here's what I'm bringing:

17 First Kisses by Rachael Allen: this sounds like a super cute contemporary, AKA a perfect beach read.

Lady Windermere's Lover by Miranda Neville: I like Miranda Neville's writing and I love reading romance novels in the sun.

The Vanishing Season by Jodi Lynn Anderson: I've heard great things about Tiger Lily and am really curious about this one!

On the Fence by Kasie West: Kasie West is awesome. So I need this in my beach bag. And also: cute contemporaries make for the best summer reads!

For All Time by Jude Devereaux: I LOVED the first book in her Nantucket Brides series, and as I said before: romance + sun = awesome.

Eona by Alison Goodman: we read Eon for book club and Eona is our June read and OMG I JUST NEED TO READ IT BECAUSE EON WAS SOOOOOO GOOD!

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson: but only if someone tells me it won't make me cry! I've heard her books are tear-inducing and crying on the beach is a bit awkward.

A Breath of Frost by Alyxandra Harvey: because it's a witchy book and I love (good) witchy books.

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez: I'm guessing this will be in more bags than only mine. I read Love in Times of Cholera on the beach in Italy and it worked perfectly, so I'm thinking I'll do the same with this one.

A Dance With Dragons by George R.R. Martin: but only if I can still carry my bag after adding this one cause it's HUGE! But I promised Kelly and Kimberly I'd start it soon, so I'll try!

That's it for me, what's in your beach bag? Anything I should add and explain to the nice people at the airport that my bag is overweight because I just HAD to add another book?

Top Ten Book Covers I'd Frame As Pieces of Art

To learn more about Top Ten Tuesday or see the list of future topics click here

Top Ten Book Covers I’d Frame As Pieces of Art:

Jen's Picks:

If I would have planned this better I totally would have gone to a bookstore and just walked around looking at all the book covers I’d like a print of to hang on my wall. Instead I scoured my bookshelves and GoodReads.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis: How can you not LOVE this cover??

Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler: The heart shaped sea glass on the cover is a perfect fit for the book and a spot hanging on my wall.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater: The simplicity of the cover makes it so great.

Oh, The Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss: This would be good to hang in an office or someplace you'd see it when you needed a boost of motivation.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll: This clothbound version is super super super pretty! I’d hang a canvas painting of this cover on my wall for sure.

Jamie's Picks

I'm just obsessed with the simplicity and beauty of this one. If the heart was something I stumbled upon on Etsy I would buy it and hang it in my home.

I haven't read this (I own it!) but this cover change for the paperback is BEAUTIFUL.

Kimberly's Picks

Sea Glass by Maria V. Snyder: Isn't it just gorgeous? I love the color and simplicity.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak: This is my favorite edition of the book, I love the imagery, young girl with a book, sepia toned with the contrast of the rust colored curtains.

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund: Normally I don't care for the "prom/fancy dress clad girl with devastatingly beautiful face" covers. But this is so much better. It's simple and beautiful.

What book covers would YOU hang as art work because they are so beautifuuuuul?

    Top Ten Tuesday Rewind!

To learn more about Top Ten Tuesday or see a list of future topics click here! This week is a Rewind so Kimberly and I decided to just do a Freebie and talk about dead authors and characters we wish had Twitter accounts!

Which authors/characters would you love to have a Twitter account?

    Lori says:

    1.  Dorothy Parker--I think she would totally rock Twitter with all of her fabulous one-liners and quippy remarks.  Parker embodied the phrase "brevity is the soul of wit."  She knew how to turn a phrase.  She had an interesting outlook on life and I think would have been very interesting to follow...kind of in the gallows humor kind of way.

    2.  Ernest Hemingway--His wry observations on life and a record of his travels to bullfights and safaris in Africa would be super interesting to read.  I could totally see him saying something abrasive and controversial and getting embroiled in a major storm.  And it would be great.

    3.  Hunter S. Thompson--His tweets would probably be a bit convoluted on account of the drugs, but I think that they would be very interesting.  Especially when I think about live-tweeting Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.  He was a great commentator on events in America during a time of great social change and I think that seeing his unedited opinions on things would have made for some great reading.

    4.  Holly Golightly--I don't know that she'd be the best at Twitter--I could see her updating every now and then--but I think her tweets would be interesting.  I think that Holly lived a difficult, but interesting life with all of those parties and adventures.  I admire her ability and willingness to just pick up and leave whenever the room got a little hostile.

    5.  Oscar Wilde--I haven't read much by Wilde, but he's another one who made these great, wry comments about life and people, so I think he would be worth following.  I think he would have a lot to say about culture, art, and food--which would make him rather versatile.

    Kimberly says:

    1. C.S. Lewis- I'm watching the second Chronicles of Narnia as I type this... I love his little bits of inspiration that are sprinkled throughout his novels, I feel like seeing tweets from him in my twitter feed would make me smile on a daily basis.

    2. Cress (The Lunar Chronicles)- Cress is hilarious. And spastic. I want to see what she'd tweet. I think I'd spend most my time laughing.

    3. Hazel Grace (The Fault in Our Stars)- Well, from what I've heard and kinda seen, she's Tumblr in the form of a girl. So imagine what her twitter account would look like? I think it would be a mix of humor, and wry observations of life. (Probably something similar to John Green's twitter)

    4. A (every day)- Just imagine the insight we'd have to A's life! And the diverse type of tweets we'd see! Actually, I think I heard a rumor that there was a twitter account for A... I should check on that.

    5. J. R. R. Tolkien- Now, he might have had a difficult time sticking to the character limit, but I feel like seeing tweets from him would have made my day.
