Elton John's "Step Into Christmas" @lisamshafer
ReplyDeleteNational Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
ReplyDeleteFavorite tradition - spending time with only my most immediate family = hubby!
ReplyDeleteI love watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. I'm a huge Peanuts fan.

ReplyDeleteFavorite movie is Christmas Vacation, hands down. Our tradition is opening our Christmas jammies on Christmas eve before bed. @BookishThings
ReplyDeleteDonny Osmond Christmas "A Soldier's King"

My favorite movie is "A Christmas Story." It comes from a collection of short stories by Jean Shepherd and tells of a real Christmas he had with his family. I grew up in the same city as Jean - Hammond, Indiana. We even went to the same high school; decades apart, of course. The fictional town of "Hohman" in the movie is actually Hammond. It became a family tradition to watch the movie and drive by his house on Christmas Eve. The person who lives there puts a replica of the leg lamp in the window that night.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I keep the tv on the 24 hour marathon of A Christmas Story every year. My kids are 16 and 19 and they get so annoyed with us. I forced my husband to watch The Bishop's Wife with me last year and he loved it. Another movie I watch every year is Serendipity. John Cusack's character reminds me of a grown up Lloyd Dobler. My daughter is already listening to Christmas music. I think I've heard Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree a hundred times already. Thank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDelete@W8ing4Wentworth
My favorite Christmas song is "O Holy Night," followed closely by "Silent Night." My all-time favorite Christmas movies include Miracle on 34th Street and Rudolph (clay-mation style). As far as favorite Christmas traditions go, I don't think I could narrow it down! I am one of those crazy people who makes sure all of the traditions are followed each year.
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess I should add my twitter (lol): @jessilouwho22
DeleteI spend Christmas day with my family, but every Christmas evening I and my whole group of friends get together and go to the latest showing of a movie. We've been doing it for years and the amount of friends who come changes every time, but we keep the tradition going! The older we get the more of us get married, or move, or have kids, but we still make time for each other! It's one of my favorite things!

What a lovely giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThe day after Thanksgiving, I start listening to my Trans-Siberian Orchestra CDs in the car. They are the only music that gets played in my car until the day after Christmas. I also love watching all the Bass & Rankin holiday specials (I especially love the Jack Frost story).
My Twitter handle is @FunIsReading
My favorite Christmas movie is While you were sleeping. I watched it for the first time when i was 13 and fell in love with Bill Pullman :-) I watch it every year around the holidays. My family lives in another continent and I usually have to spend Christmas with someone else's family, like Lucy. And this year I'll spend it alone:-( So a few good holiday books and the cat would keep me great company! bugarka@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI have a special Christmas music mix I made for my iPod. It only gets played between Thanksgiving and New Year's (though I occasionally break it out for a day or two in July if I'm very stressed!).
ReplyDeleteTwitter handle is @Kelly_Cozy
My favorite Christmas song is Please Come Home for Christmas by Jon Bon Jovi. And we have a tradition of watching A Christmas Story every year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! :)

I love Christmas songs and movies! I think my favorite is always National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation though.
ReplyDeleteI like Jingle Bell Rock. It's so singable and catchy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is watching "It's a Wonderful Life" and decorating the Christmas tree while drinking hot chocolate!

What a fun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas song is The Little Drummer Boy because it reminds me of my late grandma. I used to spend part of my Christmas holidays at her house, and she'd put it on and walk around the house singing it as loud as she could, throwing in some air drumming at times. She passed away December 22nd, 2011, and we played it at her funeral. The song makes me sad now, but also happy because it reminds me of her :).
Favourite Christmas movie is The Santa Clause because I used to watch it with my dad. All my favourite Christmas things have nostalgic memories attached to them, but that's what makes Christmas so special to me.
My Twitter is KrissyJensen5
I love Debbie Macomber's Christmas books, I usually try to read one of them. My family always watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation every year. kellyann_13@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteThese are exactly the kind of books I'm starting to get into the mood for, I've been trying to figure out which holiday romances are worth reading, so I will definitely check these out.
ReplyDeleteHard to pick just one Christmas movie so I will name a few: Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, All I Want for Christmas and Love Actually (I'm clearly indecisive)
Favourite Christmas song is the Hanson version of What Christmas Means to Me - 90's classic
I'm a Christmas fanatic all around, so this giveaway is kind of perfect.
Twitter @alongfortheread
My two favorite Christmas movies are "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Christmas Vacation".
ReplyDeletersgrandinetti@yahoo(DOt)com
My favourite Christmas movies are incorporated into a Christmas tradition - on Christmas night, after the meal has been cleared away, my youngest sister and I sit down at Dad's house and watch our favourite old Christmas movie (White Christmas) and our favourite newer Christmas movie (Love Actually).
ReplyDeletekate_e_jones (at) yahoo (dot) ca
It's embarrassing, but my favorite Christmas song is Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas Is You." Humiliating, but true.
ReplyDeleteSheesh me. @appifanie !
DeleteChristmas isn't complete without watching The Nightmare Before Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and A Christmas Story!! Since the baby bettys were born we have our annual Frosty the Snowman night.... pizza, popcorn, snowman smores and obviously the movie! We rock the Elf on a Shelf too! :) bookrockbetty@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLove this giveaway! Every Christmas, my family turns on ABC Family and leaves A Christmas Story (my fav Christmas movie ever, obviously) on loop all day, whether someone is watching it or not! I don't think Christmas would be Christmas without it :)

What an awesome giveaway!! My fave holiday traditions are watching cheesy Hallmark holiday movies + (believe it or not) finding the perfect Christmas cards to send out. I also make it a point to watch "Love Actually" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" every Xmas Eve :) -- @spencerafreeman
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Christmas Vacation! I watch that movie at least once a night in December!!
ReplyDeletelalu18@wowway.com
What a great giveaway!! Favorite Christmas movie is Miracle on 34th Street. Watch it repeatedly from Thanksgiving night to New Years Eve.
ReplyDeletebh313@hotmail.com
My favorite Christmas song is Same Auld Lang Syne. I find that traditions are important to me now that I have kids of my own. My girls celebrate Christmas with the same Christmas Tree that I grew up using - it is so sad and frail, but it is a fun connection. We get them new pajamas the night on Christmas Eve. @smldada
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome giveaway! My fave christmas song is definitely "All I Want for Christmas" by Mariah Carey. I'm obsessed. And sadly, my favorite thing to watch around the holidays besides Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is the superrrr oldddd Barney Christmas Episode where they take a trip to the North Pole. I'm such a kid haha. Thanks again for the awesome giveaway!

My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story. I love that they play it for 24hrs straight on TBS, my mom hates it but she still lets me watch it a few times. Our Christmas tradition is for as many of us to go my grandma's house as can make it. I am not going this year and I am really sad that I will not see all my family but we are spending Christmas with my husband's family this year so it will still be fun. This is a really great give away!!! :) @WillRead4Coffee
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas movie is The Santa Clause with Tim Allen. It's for a nostalgic reason... I still remember seeing the movie in theaters in 1994 with my parents and cousin. I will never forget returning from the theater to my nana's house with my cousin repeating the line, "We're elves. With attitude!" I have to smile every time I hear that line. That "little" cousin is now 24 and an accountant, but I'll never forget us being little kids sitting next to each other at the movies. :)
ReplyDeletegar0190@yahoo.com
My favorite thing to do around Christmas time is to go to the towns around where I live to see the "town square" decorated and take part in the festivities that are happening in these smaller towns. I love to share all this with my grand kids.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night. My favorite Christmas tradition is going to my sister's house at 5 a.m. so that I can see both her kids wake up and get presents from Santa. Then we all (including our parents) sit around the Christmas tree and open all the presents. All of this is followed by a big breakfast and then it's home for a nap! :)

I'm Jewish, but I love a good Christmas story/movie. Pretty much anything on the Hallmark channel will suck me - Holiday in Handcuffs with Melissa Joan Hart, A Charlie Brown Christmas, etc.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is making a super-long classic (pre-1985) Christmas music playlist and buying decorations. Twitter @CordeliaLogan!
ReplyDeleteMr. Parker: Fra-gee-lay. That must be Italian.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Parker: Uh, I think that says FRAGILE, dear.
and of course Deck the harrs with boughs of horry, fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra. It just isn't Christmas without Ralphie.
My absolute fav movie is 12 Dates of Christmas... Even if it's cheesy :]

ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas song is definitely Diana Krall's live version of Jingle Bells -- so much fun! (@ReadingInWinter)
ReplyDeleteLast Christmas by Wham is one of my favorite Christmas songs. I don't even think I can give you a reason why after all of these years... @jamibee
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas we take our kids to see The Nutcracker. This year we are going to see Manheim Steamroller. The kids' favorite Christmas movies are Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation and Elf! Mine is Love Actually. @beckyarnold33
ReplyDeleteI have loved Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" since I was young. I either read it or watch one of the movies - but it has to be the original story, not someone else's version that copies the idea but not the story. I also watch a marathon of all 3 of The Santa Claus movies. (vjvereeke@hotmail.com)
ReplyDeleteIn order to get into the Christmas spirit, ever year I *have* to watch The Santa Clause and Home Alone. Until then, it just ain't Christmas :)
ReplyDeletefictionfolio (at) gmail (dot) com
Confession: I've never read a Christmas book but for Debbie Macomber's 1225 Christmas Tree Lane {unless you count the American Girl Christmas stories}, and I didn't realize it was the last book of a twelve book series! I do have a holiday tradition with my best friend, though: we always get together and watch White Christmas as our first "Christmas-y act" after Halloween! I just love that movie!
ReplyDeleteMy email is karilynnwhite {at} gmail {dot} com, but, you know, without the parenthesis and spaces ;-)

My favourite Christmas movie is definitely Serendipity, even though I guess technically it's not only a Christmas movie. I watch it every year!
ReplyDeleteI've never read a Christmas book aside from the typical Night Before Christmas, so this could be enlightening for me if I win. :)
One of the best movies EVER is White Christmas, with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. And my favorite book would be Dash & Lily's Book of Dares. ^_^
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the giveaway! I've been in the mood to read some Christmas books.
@KateBucklein

ReplyDeleteI love seasonal reads. I've been in the Christmas mood for weeks, and I've already read a few seasonal tales. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens remains my favorite seasonal read. My daughter is reading it this year in middle school and I am so excited. When the TV movie with Patrick Stewart came out on DVD my hubby picked it up as a special gift for me. I watch it every year.
