Broke & Bookish Book Haul For 9/9 - 9/15

Jamie's Book Haul

For Review:

Asunder by Jodi Meadows (Out January 2013)
Ravage by Jeff Sampson (Out January 2013)
Shadows in the Silence by Courtney Allison Moulton (Out January 2013)
The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd (Out January 2013)
Nobody But Us by Kristin Halbrook (Out January 2013)

I also got a back of Middle Grade titles from HarperCollins but I left the package at my sister's house so I can't recall what was in there!

Again, I didn't buy much this week because I have a TON of book events coming up this week or so.. so I'll be buying lots of books and since I no longer have a job...I have to curb my buying habits and reserve it for Special Things.

Geek Love by Katherine Dunn -- Got it real cheap at the used book store  near me! I am so happy we discovered this place nearby our new apartment.  I'll have to do a post about it!

Kelly's Book Haul

From the Library:

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa
The Sweet Far Thing by Libbra Bray (finishing out the Gemma Doyle trilogy, sad face)
City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare (here's a series that I wish ended at book three...)
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (for my mom who hasn't read it yet. I've warned her!)
She-Wolves: The Women Who Ruled England Before Elizabeth by Helen Castor (pure geekery!)

*Can I just say how happy it makes me that my new job is only one block away from the library?! Hello lunch break!

Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes (50 cents!)

Our Broke & Bookish book haul is inspired by memes like IMM & Stacking the Shelves & Mailbox Monday. This is just our very simple way of doing it collaboratively so we can participate in all of them and not have to choose one.

  1. Aw! I need to read Incarnate so that I can read Asunder! Great haul!

    Amber Elise @ Du Livre

  2. I got Iron Daughter this week, too! (: I hope you LOVE the Sweet Far Thing.

  3. Yay for Origin!! :) I can't wait to read that one!

Kelly, I just got a relief position AT the library. I already take out piles of books -- what's going to happen when I'm working there? It'll be AWESOME!

    Happy reading, ladies!

  4. DYING over The Madman's Daughter and Nobody But Us. And, eep, My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century is adorable and so much fun! Also, Kelly, I'll be very curious to hear your thoughts on The Sweet Far Thing. It's a crazy one!

    Tara @ Hobbitsies

    1. Crazy is right! I both loved and hated the ending. So emotional!

  5. So jealous you got Shadows in the Silence and Origin! Can't wait to see what you all think of them!

    Happy reading!

  6. Jamie: I will not pretend I'm not extremely jealous of that shiny copy of Asunder ;) I'm DYING to read it!
Kelly: The Sweet Far Thing kinda broke my heart a little... Can't wait to hear what you think!

    1. I actually screamed during the last few chapters. SCREAMED. And cried.

  7. Daisy, I just bought Storm this week. I read it, and it was fun! I hope you enjoy it. I definitely want to read the sequel, Spark.

Kelly, I kind of wish TMI ended after book three, too. But a teen at the library where I work, says the City of Lost Souls is amazing, so I need to read it. I did read CoFA, and liked it, but didn't love it. That is why I haven't gotten CoLS, yet, butI do plan on reading it.

    Have fun reading! :)

    1. After finishing it, I feel the same about CoFA. It was still good, but just okay. I still plan on reading the next one as soon as possible (cliffhangers!!!).

  8. Great hauls ladies! I'm intrigued by The Madman's Daughter!

  9. Oh my gosh I'm so excited for The Madman's Daughter!! Like, seriously, I can't even wait! I'm hoping to get a copy in soon. ;) Brides of Rollrock Island was incredible, and I can't wait for so many others on these lists! What awesome finds! :D

    Sierra @ Yearning to Read

  10. Asunder, The Madman's daughter, Origin!! Sigh! I'm waiting for them!
    Great Haul :D
