Daisy Asks For Your Fluffy Contemporary Recs!
Ok guys, I've asked you for recommendations before, and obviously you're all awesome at this! So now I REALLY need more fluffy contemporaries in my life and I'm asking you to tell me what I should be reading. I want cute and aww-inspiring and swoony and just something that will make me smile. I prefer YA or NA, but if you have a good adult rec, that's fine too :)
If you're interested in my Goodreads shelves, you can find them here.
Thanks!

It's not YA or NA, but Welcome to Rosie Hopkins' Sweetshop of Dreams by Jenny Colgan is a lovely contemporary, as is Elizabeth Noble's Things I Want My Daughters to Know. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Jenny Colgan's books look really cute! :)
DeleteI really enjoyed Rosie Hopkins' and also Meet me at the Cupcake Café by Jenny Colgan. I can also recommend Ali McNamara's books since I know that you're also reading adult novels. Breakfast at Darcy's is my fav.
DeleteASK AGAIN LATER and TOP TEN CLUES YOU'RE CLUELESS by Liz Czukas.
ReplyDeleteI've read Top Ten Clues You're Clueless and really liked it :) One of my friends also keeps raving about Ask Again Later, so I should get on reading that one!
DeleteOoh, The Deal by Elle Kennedy was really good (contemporary NA) and The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan is another really great contemporary NA read that doesn't take itself too seriously. Isla & the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins, On the Fence by Kasie West was cute for contemporary YA. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones that pop out at me right now. Ohh and the Rusk University books (All Lined Up and All Broke Down).
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Thanks for the recs! I've read Isla and On the Fence and really enjoyed both :) I hadn't heard of The Deal or The Hook Up before, but I've added them to the TBR!
DeleteI've Got Your Number and Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella. It's Chick-Lit, it's hilarious and it's unputdownable!
ReplyDeleteJen @ The Bookavid
YES! I LOVED Remember Me! Sophie Kinsella is AWESOME! I haven't read I've Got Your Number yet though, should get on that :) If you like her, you might also like Jill Mansell's books.
DeleteIf you're looking for swoon worthy NA romance that's fluffy and predictable, go with the Lucky Harbor books from Jill Shalvis! I recently read books 10 (It's in His Kiss) 11 (he's So Fine) and 12 (One in a Million) and they're perfect fluffy swoony romance reads!
ReplyDeleteOoh, yes! I've read It's In His Kiss a while back and really liked it! Thanks!
DeleteWe Were Liars, Beautiful Disaster, Anna and the French Kiss, The Selection (series) and Cinder (series).
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've read all but The Selection, I do own the books in that series though :)
DeleteThe Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a classic, and any Sarah Dessen :)
ReplyDeleteSarah Dessen! I've yet to read a book by her, but I've heard great things about them! And The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a great series :)
DeleteSimon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli! :D
ReplyDeleteI've seen this one around, but it wasn't really on my radar until now, thanks for the rec!
DeleteAnna and the French Kiss, Going Vintage
ReplyDeleteAnything by Jill Shalvis is always a good swoon-worthy, cute, and fun time.
ReplyDeleteSarah Dessen! Start with The Truth About Forever.
ReplyDeleteI'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios is a great contemporary, but has more grit that fluff. Same with Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. Anything by Jennifer E Smith is fluffy and sweet. How (Not) To Fall In Love by Lisa Brown Roberts is under-rated fabulousness. As is Louder Than Words by Iris St Clair. Come Back To Me by Mila Gray is a solid read, and Boys Like You by Juliana Stone is my kryptonite.
ReplyDeleteAll American-Girl/Teen Idol/Airhead Trilogy and pretty much anything by Meg Cabot (her adult contemporaries are great fun also. Definitely check out the Heather Wells series)
ReplyDeleteALL Rachel Hawthorne contemps (but especially Labor of Love!) Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteJackie @ No Bent Spines
I just finished Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and LOVED it! So happy feels after finishing it. Also Geek Girl is a really cute one, and I loved the Selection Series like someone else mentioned, though they're not really contemporary I don't think. But they are book crack and you will FLY through them!
ReplyDeleteCassie @ Happy Book Lovers
Penny Reid's Neanderthal Seeks Human and Sophie Kinsella's I've Got Your Number! :D
ReplyDelete(I ended up taking note of some recommendations here. :P)
Ella @ The Filipina Booknote
Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli! It's honestly so good and adorable! And To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. Also, Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll stop now :D
I recommend "Practice Makes Perfect" and "The Sexiest Man Alive" by Julie James. She writes sassy female characters and cute romances. I really enjoyed "Where Rainbows End" by Cecelia Ahern and there is a recent adaptation called "Love, Rosie".
ReplyDeleteHmmm... have you tried Magnolia by Kristi Cook? That is a really good one :)
ReplyDeleteI read in the comments that you've read On The Fence by Kasie West, so I'd also recommend her book The Distance Between Us. Another book I'd highly recommend is Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg. I just read it last week and I loved it so much I've already reread it!
ReplyDeleteHere are some books I've really enjoyed that you might want to check out. They are all good, enjoyable reads.
ReplyDeleteClues to Winning You and A Match Made in High School by Kristin Walker
The Princess Diaries seriesby Meg Cabot
Decked with Holly, Awkward, Invisible, Notable and Awkwardly Ever After by Marni Bates
Falling in Love with English Boys and The Fine Art of Truth or Dare by Melissa Jensen
Going Vintage, Sean Griswold’s Head and The Chapel Wars by Lindsey Leavitt
Tammy @ Bo's Book Nook
This is my first visit here, so forgive me if I mention a book you already like. I adored "The Rosie Project" and then its sequel too. So funny and a love interest as the nerdy hero who reminds us all of Sheldon in Big Bang Theory maps out a plan to find a wife, or even a girl friend.
