For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

Top Ten Debut Authors Who Have Us Looking Forward To Their Sophomore Novel (because when you love a debut, you just are ITCHING to get your hands on the author's second book) or Top Ten Sophomore Novels That We Loved Just As Much If Not More Than The Author's Debut (no one hit wonders heeeere!)

Jana's Pick

1 -- Maggie Hall - I loved The Conspiracy of Us, and cannot WAIT for the next book in the series!

Bridget's Picks

2 -- Sona Charaipotra / Dhonielle Clayton - I only recently read Tiny Pretty Things by this superstar duo, and I was so excited to discover that there’s a sequel called Shiny Broken Pieces coming out in July!! This is the only actual sophomore novel that I know anything about so far and I’m psyched for it.

3 -- Celeste Ng - Her debut, Everything I Never Told You, is one of the best books I read in 2015 and also probably one of the best ever. It’s lovely and heartbreaking and perfect and everyone I’ve recommended it to has loved it, and I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

4 -- Ruth Ware - I loved In a Dark, Dark Wood—in fact, I was so excited to read it that I started reading it while I was at BEA. I finished it only a few hours after BEA ended, and actually postponed meeting up with a friend in Astoria that night so I could—that’s how glued to it I was. Can’t wait to get my hands on her next book!

Lauren's Picks

5 -- Kate Maruyama - I loved Harrowgate. It was so creepy and had just the right amount of suspense. I'd love to see her write a second book! I'd definitely buy it!

6 -- Melinda Salisbury - I loved the world this author created in The Sin Eater's Daughter. I can't wait for the sequel!

Daisy's Pick

7 -- Renee Ahdieh - I LOVED The Wrath and the Dawn, it was beyond amazing storytelling and I NEED the sequel like right now!

8 -- Lisa Aldin One of the Guys was SO good! I stayed up till 2 AM to finish it and it was just cute and I was shipping it SO HARD! If you haven't read it, you definitely need to add it to your TBR if you like cute contemporaries. I'm curious to see what Lisa Aldin will come up with next!

9 -- Becky Wallace - I totally adored The Storyspinner, it was just my kind of fantasy novel and I'm so excited to read the sequel!! Also totally shipping the ship in this one.

10 -- Karole Cozzo How To Say I Love You Out Loud hit me right in the feels! It's an amazing look into the life of someone who's brother has autism and I just loved seeing the character growth in this one! I can't wait for more from Karole Cozzo!

  1. Celeste Ng was on my original list, as I loved Everything I Never Told You. I had 21 to start so she didn't make the final 10 but I am definitely going to keep an eye out for her sophomore book. My TTT

  3. I can't wait to read the sequels to The Storyspinner and The Wrath and the Dawn. I will have to check out Everything I Never Told You. It seems like people either love or hate it but my sister thought it was fantastic too and we have similar taste in books.
