Our October Faves & November TBR

Here's our collective roundup of favorite books we read in October and looking ahead to a book on our TBR for November! Tell us in the comments one of your best reads in October and a book you plan to read in November!

FAVORITES

Jamie's Pick

This one was such a perfect read for October -- very atmospheric! If you love historical fiction and a little bit of mystery....check this one out! REALLY enjoyed it!

Jana's Pick

Compulsion (The Heirs of Watson Island, #1)

I'm not completely done with this book, but I know it's going to be my favorite because it's the only book I've read this month... The Epic Reading Slump of Doom continues, and I'm about to go insane. But I love the writing style and the creepy vibe! And it's atmospheric, just like Jamie's is. lol.

Daisy's Pick

I totally ADORED this book and as a bonus, I also got to meet the author because Leigh Bardugo is amazing and came to Holland and YAYYYYY!!! :D I also loved how Kerch is based on the Netherlands :) You should definitely be reading this, I'm shipping all the ships and can't wait for the next one!

Julia's Pick

This book was a fun read. I love Eloisa James and this book did not disappoint. It was the perfect book to read during my super long flight, and easy to get caught up in the life and love of the two main leads (my review).

Bridget's Pick

I'm pretty sure I got this book on the day it came out—I think I preordered it last winter—which was in June, but I finally took it down about a week ago while I was waiting for the termite guy to show up. He was an hour late, which is part of what allowed me to read the entire book in one day. The other thing that allowed me to do that was how freaking good it was. If you like fast-paced sci-fi thrillers, definitely read this. But maybe, just maybe (wink wink) read his other novel, 14, first. :)

Lauren's Pick

I loved this novel. I won't lie, it took me a little while to get into it, but once I did... it was great. I loved how all of the characters were all connected in some way.

NOVEMBER TBR

Jamie's Pick

Just Visiting by Dahlia Adler
I really enjoyed Dahlia's debut and I am sooooooo super excited to read this soon!

Jana's Pick

Black Ice

Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick
I've heard this one is pretty glorious, and it was just recommended to me again when I asked Twitter for wintry reads recommendations. So I'm gonna do it!

Daisy's Pick

This sounds super cute and like just my kind of book :)

Julia's Pick

I have been reading this series after years of a break. I really enjoy the differences in the books and the full-feel of the world. I really want to keep going and read this latest one!

Bridget's Pick

I somehow managed to miss that this came out on October 20th!! Now that I've finished rereading The Shining in honor of Halloween, I'm going to start on this ASAP!

Lauren's Pick

Everyone knows how much of an Atwood fan I am, so it's no surprise that I ran to the bookstore when this book was released. I honestly wish I didn't have to sleep tonight so I could read it.

Lori's Pick

After Alice by Gregory Maguire:  I love the idea of this further exploration of Alice in Wonderland! I didn't get into the whole Wicked series. However, I think Wonderland will provide enough opportunities to keep my interest piqued.
