Broke and Bookish Book Haul for 8/4 - 8/31

Daisy's Book Haul

Bought:
-Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst: I've heard really good things about this book, so I'm excited to read it. Also, the cover is really pretty.
-Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas: already read and LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!
-Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor: so everyone keeps raving about this series and even though I haven't read the first one yet, I obviously needed this one...
-A Tale of Two Centuries by Rachel Harris: My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century was SO cute! I'm really excited to continue the story here!
-How To Lose a Bride in One Night by Sophie Jordan: already read and LOVED! Sophie Jordan keeps on writing amazing historical romance novels!
-Mistwood by Leah Cypess: for those of you who have been paying attention: yes this was in my previous book haul as well... I accidentally ordered two copies..
-Rules of Summer by Joanna Philbin: I love summer novels, they make for perfect reads :)
-The Blood King by Gail Z. Martin: this is another one of those sequels that I had to buy even though I haven't read the first book yet, but it was on SALE, I mean, really, how am I supposed to resist this?
-American Gods by Neil Gaiman: I need to read more Neil Gaiman books, I really enjoyed Stardust!
-A Great and Terrible Beauty
Rebel Angels
The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray: I LOVE this series! I read them years ago, but had to buy them when I noticed them being all on sale at the American Book Center...

Traded:
-Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza: I've been meaning to read this book for ages! Thanks Celine :)

Egalleys for Review:
-Dead Girls Don't Lie by Jennifer Shaw Wolf: SO EXCITED! I've heard so many amazing things about Breaking Beautiful and I can't wait to read this!
-One Night With The Laird by Nicola Cornick: Nicola Cornick's books are usually pretty entertaining, so I'm sticking with her new series and hoping for kilts!
-The Governess Club: Bonnie by Ellie MacDonald: while the first novella wasn't my favourite ever, this does sound really sweet :)
-Finding It by Cora Carmack: I really enjoyed the Losing It and I'm excited to read Kelsey's story!
-Season for Scandal by Theresa Romain: I love a scandal and what sounds like a marriage of convenience at first!
-To All The Rakes I've Loved Before by Anne Barton: this title alone is awesome!
-If Wishes Were Earls by Elizabeth Boyle: the tables get turned on this rake and the lady he marries is looking for revenge: YES I WILL READ THIS!
-Tangled Tides by Karen Amanda Hooper: I love the underwater world and this sounds like just my kind of book!
-Elizabeth of York by Alison Weir: this goes rather nicely with my Tudor obsession :)
-The High Druid's Blade by Terry Brooks: so I've been meaning to start this series for a LONG time and this is described as the perfect place to fall into the series for new readers, so I'm finally doing it!
-Diamonds and Deceit by Leila Rasheed: I LOVED Cinders & Sapphires, I'm SO EXCITED to continue this series!!

Jamie's Book Haul

I'm not at home because I'm watching my nieces and nephews while my sis is in the hospital so I can't show everything I got but I had this box from Bloomsbury with me and got my nieces in on it!

Our Broke & Bookish book haul is inspired by memes like IMM & Stacking the Shelves & Mailbox Monday. This is just our very simple way of doing it collaboratively so we can participate in all of them and not have to choose one.

  4. Daisy, I love the A Great and Terrible Beauty series! I hope you love Days of Blood and Starlight (and Daughter of Smoke and Bone). I still haven't read Throne of Glass, but it seems like Crown of Midnight has been getting absolutely glowing reviews, so I think I will buy it soon.

  7. Congratulations on your adorable baby niece! (:

Awesome haul! I hadn't heard of Dangerous by Shannon Hale-- I've been meaning to read some of her fairytale/middle-grade books, but this one sounds excellent.

Also, SO JEALOUS that you have Crown of Midnight! I am waiting for it from my library, and am just dying waiting for the order to come-- sometimes it takes months! :(

    Anyways, thanks for the haul!!

  11. I think this is a great idea. Maybe I wouldn't spend so much on books if I could visually see how many books I bring into my house. I love your blog. Keep up the good work!
