This week's topic was Top Ten Books With X Setting...it's up to you! What did I choose?
BEACH SETTINGS!
BEACH SETTINGS!
Guys I love books set at the beach or by the sea so I decided to make a list of the top ten that I've read! Please give me more suggestions in the comments!
The Books:
The Au-Pairs by Melissa De La Cruz (this is my sister's pick bc I was talking to her while I was working on this! I STILL need to read this series bc she's told me it's so fun multiple times!)
Tell me if you've read any of these/if you have any more suggestions for me!
I need to read so many of these, especially GOLDEN and TWENTY BOY SUMMER!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
oooh the Summer books and the Scorpio Races I adore both of those!

My Top Ten
I LOVED The Scorpio Races. I just recently got my hands on TWENTY BOY SUMMER and NANTUCKET BLUE and I can't wait to read them now!
ReplyDeleteJamie I was going to choose beach too but I thought that we had recently done one not long ago LOL
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
I love Nicholas Sparks! Hmm not sure The Last Song would have been my pick from him though. I really enjoyed Nights In Rodanthe though, have you read it?
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a chance to read The Scorpio Races but it is on my TBR list.
I borrowed Raw Blue from the library the other day! I love books set in Australia and I've been to the Beach that Carly waitresses on a million times. It seems like the ultimate beach read. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Scorpio Races, but haven't read any of the others. I thought of a few "beach" settings, but they aren't exactly the sun bathing variety: Ship Breaker, Nation by Terry Pratchett, and Beauty Queens by Libba Bray.
ReplyDeleteThough they're not all 100% on the beach, Sarah Dessen books! And I really like OF POSEIDON by Anna Banks. Nice choice!
ReplyDeleteI don't read many books set by the beach, I'm not sure why. That said, I do have The Scorpio Races on my bookshelf to read, where it's been sitting for a good few months now.
ReplyDeleteGreat list.
Sarah
I've actually never read any of them. I feel so bad now! I really want to read Nantucket Blue, though, and I'm definitely going to add some of them to my wishlist now.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! We all need some beach settings now and again, especially when the weather isn't so great! Definitely want to read The Summer I turned Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Twenty Boy Summer. I need to read Golden and The Summer I Turned Pretty.
ReplyDeletelove the look of this! I read The Summer I Turned Pretty, and thought it was alright, but Sarah Dessen's beach town books should get on your TBR (to be read in a sandchair at the beach, obviously) :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I really need to check some of these out!
ReplyDeleteI found my list incredibly difficult to compile!
I chose the beach for my list this week, too! We have a few in common, but here's a few more I can recommend: Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols, Rules of Summer by Joanna Philbin, On the Island by Tracey Garvus Graves, Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! This is my first time to join in. I read about it on JoAnn's Lakeside Musing blog. I'm off to visit other blogs!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these even though I've been wanting to. Maybe I will check them out before the end of summer and get my beach on ;) Great list!
ReplyDeleteI *almost* did this topic as well, but then I settled on Top Ten Favorite Southern Novels. Fun topics!
ReplyDeleteThe beach! Didn't think of the beach. Great setting.
ReplyDeleteI ended up with WWII-era as my pick!
Great list. I ended up with WWII as my setting!
ReplyDeleteI love beach setting books. I really enjoyed Nantucket Blue, it was surprising substantial compared to its cover. I still need to read 20 Boy Summer. I've had it checked out from the library, but cannot seem to find the time.
ReplyDeleteLoved "The Last Song"! I still need to read The Scorpio Races! Great list!
ReplyDelete-Sonnie @ ParaDays
I have no idea why I don't read more books set at the beach, but I really need to read a few of these! I totally loved The Summer I Turned Pretty, and really want to read Moonglass and Twenty Boy Summer. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI chose books set during wars this week! So many awesome titles. Also in case anyone is interested, I've got a giveaway going on. So, free stuff, come on down! :)
ReplyDeleteI've only read a couple of these, but I'll definitely need to check out the others! I've heard great things about the Sixteenth Summer and the Au Pair. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI love that you included The Scorpio Races on your list. It's not at all what readers normally think of when they think of a "beach" book, but the island of Thisby is almost like its own character. I would love to visit (minus the killer horses!!).
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a list! Makes me want to go to the beach!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
It is a great list! Breathe by Abbi Glines have also a beach setting. It is a good book.
ReplyDeleteI love beach books! Great list!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great theme! I think Scorpio Races is a book I want to read. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI like beach books, but I haven't read any of these books...kind of sad! They look good.
ReplyDeleteHa! I also went with Beach setting. Its such a perfect setting for this time of the year. Great list, we share some books.
ReplyDeleteRaw Blue keeps showing up on blogs. I think I need to treat myself to a copy.
ReplyDeleteGood list of beach books, thanks for sharing! I made a list of ten books I happened to read in the last year that are set in the American Deep South. Please stop by to see :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I have read Raw Blue and The Scorpio Races and loved them both :). This is my first Top Ten and I am excited to participate!
ReplyDeleteI do not read a lot of beach theme novels have seen Nantucket blue around.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting. Fun my first time partaking.
Mine
That's a great list of books! I like the beach and I like contemporary YA when I do read YA so I'll probably add a few of these to my TBR list! Actually, I think I have Moonglass on my shelf...yep, I do! I had some fun with mine and chose weddings as my setting!
ReplyDelete"On the Island" by Tracey Garvis-Graves is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many books on here that I've wanted to read, but haven't got around to it. I see a library trip in my future :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca @ Vicariously!
I love beach settings too! I liked The Scorpio Races the best, but I also really like The Summer I Turned Pretty. For me, Twenty Boy Summer was just too sad to count as a one of my favorite beach reads.
ReplyDeleteI'd recommend My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. It's not necessarily set by the beach, but it has a strong summer setting.
I haven't read a single one of those, they look great though. Thanks for hosting, I posted my first Top Ten Tuesday today :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite beach setting is definitely On the Island.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Great list!
ReplyDeleteThe Au Pairs series looks pretty interesting. I have a copy of The Scorpio Races, everyone seems to rave over it so I'm excited to read it. Nothing like reading about the beach in the summertime :)
ReplyDeleteI love this weeks top ten theme. There is soo much diversity in posts this week.
ReplyDeleteOur setting was alternate realms...Hogwarts anyone? :)
Rachel @ http://thebigbookbinge.blogspot.com/2013/08/top-ten-books-set-in-alternate-realm.html
I haven't read any of these. Love The Scorpio Races cover. It's been a while since I've picked up a beach read. This inspired me to do so, soon.
ReplyDeleteI read 'On the Island' by Tracey Garvis Graves on holiday last year, and that's pretty much set on one big beach! It's basically a modern-day Robinson Crusoe desert island type scenario in which a young tutor and her teenage student are stranded on a desert island for several years after their connecting plane crashes into the ocean around The Maldives. It has a couple of cliched moments, but I sailed through it and absolutely loved it, it was the perfect poolside read for a hot day!
ReplyDeleteI love the theme for this week so much I joined the link with Linky ;)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading "The summer I turned pretty" by Jenny Han.
Yep, you have my fave beach read for this summer on your list - Nantucket Blue. Of Poseidon by Anna Banks is good, too.
ReplyDeleteI decided to go with a more indoor theme - <a href="http://inkandpage.me/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-favorite-books-set-in-a-school/'>Top Ten Books Set in a School</a>
I'm a new book blogger and I can't wait to start participating in these! It's a great idea!! Check out my upcoming list here http://klynneerickson.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteThanks!
