I'm not sure if I'll pick this one up. It sounds interesting but from your review I'm not sure if I'll actually enjoy it.
Anyhow, I wanted to say that I really enjoy your blog and because of this I want to give you an award. I adored this book - depsite having read the forward and been totally spoiled on the ending of the novel - hense reading it the entire time knowing what no one should know until the very end!

That being said, I was a HUGE fan of Lost, and picked this book up becuase it was on the Lost Lit List - and fell in love.

I've read other O'Brien novels since and this book makes the rest pale in comparison.

The part about how roads were meant to be travelled in only one direction? And the part about how if you walk a road too long it becomes a part of you, and part of you becomes the road? Gorgeous.

And the part about how people who ride bicycles around begin to acquire bike-like behaviors, and the bike then acquired people-like behaviors? Interesting.

And the part about how mirrors that reflect you into other mirrors, where you see multiple you's, are acutally showing you younger versions of youself...? Amazing!TNBBC Super Modhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15153016306489908880noreply@blogger.com
