I listened to the audiobook version of The Book Thief and it was so so so so so amazing. The narrator has just the smallest hint of a German accent and he does all the characters' voices in a beautiful and warm way. ahhhhhhh. I first read them when I really started getting into reading again after a 4-5 year slump so they were pretty much what reintroduced me to the YA genre (which had seemingly changed a lot since I had been a highschooler.) She said that it would be published here, but you could only order it from a British bookstore at that time. And that's what I did. My copies of the first 3 books are the UK editions. I read "the philosopher's stone" (which is the British title) and thought, now here is a book and this lady is going to go far. Could have never dreamed what would come both in the books and for J.K.
