Top Ten Series We Haven't Finished Yet

For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

Jana's Pick

1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling - I read book 1 for the first time last year, and I still have not picked up the second! I feel bad about this, and plan to fix it soon!

2. Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver - I Love the first two books, but heard some unhappy things about the third. So now I'm scared!

Daisy's Picks
(I'm so bad at finishing series, this is just the tip of the iceberg.)

3. The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini - I've owned Inheritance since the day it came out. And I STILL haven't read it. I suck. I need to just get it together and sit down with this one, it's been YEARS.

4. The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth - I read Divergent 2 years ago and still haven't gotten around to the sequels. This is partly because I've been MAJORLY spoiled about Allegiant and that just demotivates me.

5. Under The Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi - I totally adored Under the Never Sky and though I own the rest of the series, I somehow never got around to actually reading them. This should change soon.

Lauren's Picks

6. The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness - I've read the first book in the series and I absolutely love it. I'm currently reading the second book. These are longer, adult novels so I'm juggling reading YA ARCs while still trying to knock out this second book.

7. The Robopocalypse Series by Daniel H. Wilson - I read the first book in this series and was blown away. I started the second book and just bleh. I DNFed it, but I'm hoping I just wasn't in the mood for the second book at the time and will be able to pick it back up again.

Julia's Pick

8.  Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas - I feel like this is something I would like to keep reading, but I read the first one so long ago, I don't really remember much. I should just pick up the next book and start reading!

Jamie's Picks

9.  Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead: I've read the first 2 books but really need to get going on the rest of them!

10. The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare: I'm still undecided if I'm going to finish this one or not. I mean, I thought the first book was okay but I'm not super motivated.

Tell us all about your unfinished book series!!

  1. Ohh, Daisy, Under the Never Sky is on my list, too! I didn't have time and then the second one was almost out and I decided to binge...and now I just haven't been in a dystopian mood!

    1. Me either... I always seem to skip over dystopians these days... But I so loved the first book, so I need to get it together and just read the rest of the series!

  2. OMG I love Throne of Glass and Vampire Academy and Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments!

  3. Oh, I am glad to see Harry Potter on someone else's list! I got to book four and lost interest as a kid, and haven't remedied it yet...

  4. I've only read the first book in the Vampire Academy, Mortal Instruments and Delirium series. I think I will continue them at some point!

  5. Jamie, you need to finish TMI. The second book it is better than the first ^^

  6. I just read through Harry Potter for the first time late last year and early this year and yes, you should definitely finish them, Jana!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh Jana, you simply must finish Harry Potter!! So worth it :D

  8. Ahh, Vampire Academy. I was debating whether I should continue with it or not. Should definitely finish the Inheritance Cycle. I think the books get better as they go on though longer as well.

  9. Vampire Academy was on my list too! I really need to read the second half of that series.

  10. I wasn't too motivated to finish the Divergent trilogy after hearing about the ending. I haven't finished the Delirium trilogy, The Mortal Instruments, and the Vampire Academy either, just to name a few. Maybe soon!

  11. Delirium is on my list this week as well. I really liked the last book in the Mortal Instruments series, it kind of made up for the so-so middle books in my opinion. Good luck!

  12. I haven't finished Divergent or TMI. I did finish Under the Never Sky, though, and it's still one of my favorite YA series ever. Get on that!

  13. I have read all but the last of the Mortal Instruments series. I just saw it at the bookstore and it is huge! I will probably get around to finishing the series but I don't know when. I just started Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy) to complete that series. I also have the last of the Outlander series to read but it is really intimidating too.

  14. The Divergent Series is one I need to start. I love the all souls trilogy so much it's my favourite book series ever.

  15. I enjoyed the ending of the Delirium series (unpopular opinion?), so I encourage you to check it out one day. I was also spoiled for Allegiant, so I haven't finished the series, but I've been seeing more positive opinions on it lately. That's a plus. As for the Vampire Academy series, definitely keep reading it! The third book is amazing!

  16. I really need to finish the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I read and LOVED Shadow and Bone when it came out and bought both of the other books when they came out...and haven't read either of them yet.

    1. Oh, that is one series that I did finish and LOVED! I'm definitely recommending continuing the Grisha trilogy!

  17. Great list! I just finished Harry Potter last week or it would have made my list. I also still need to read Allegiant. I loved the Vampire Academy series and can't wait to read Bloodlines.

  18. Allegiant was definitely a buzzkill for me. :( I wouldn't say that I didn't like the ending of Delirium, but it wasn't as satisfying as the rest of the trilogy. I do think it's worth finishing, though.

I really liked the first book of TMI but the second book didn't really do it for me, and I've had trouble going back to the series ever since. I just don't know if I'm interested enough to read the rest of it!

  19. I have the Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver on my Kindle but have not started it yet, and I have and have read the first three of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, I just need 4 and I keep forgetting it is out and done. My TTT

  20. Mortal Instruments is on my list too-I read the first four but only really enjoyed the first three.

  21. Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't finished HP. Now I don't feel as bad.

  22. This would have been a fun Top 10 to join, but I am afraid I would have a very difficult time. While most of these series are not on my list, I do have to finish The Divergent Series and The Mortal Instruments as well as start the Under The Never Sky series. Good luck to you all in finish the series up.

  23. Daisy- The Inheritance Cycle is on my list for this week as well. I held off on the last divergent boos as wekk, due to spoilers but finally finished last spring. Under the Never Sky is one I still really want to read (there's a top ten idea: Series' we want to read, but haven't started).

Lauren- I think I have a Deborah Harkness book onmy TBR list but haven't read either of these series'.

Julia-The series of the month I think with the last release. I still need to start this series.

Jamie- Vampire Academy is great! Mortal Instruments is good too.

    Happy Reading!
